I know there is a lot of BMTC-bashing going on everywhere about various issues. I agree there is scope for lot improvement, but lets face it, bangalore is the one of the fastest growing cities in the world and the infrastructure is not able to keep pace with this growth.
But the very debatable BMTC volvo buses is sure to evoke a “cool..” from most of us. Ravikumar took a “cushioned ride” on one of these bmtc volvo bus and has also posted some lovely inside photos of the bus.
Shruthi also has a very interesting post on her first ride on the bus.
For people interested what is under the hood (in the rear in this case), here is the technical spec:
The Engine is a rear-mounted 7-litre, six-cylinder diesel engine with a turbocharger and an intercooler. This engine delivers an incredible 260 hp, with a maximum torque of 1100 Nm. It is fitted with disc brakes (with optional ABS, not sure if the BMTC buses has them). The riding comfort is provided by full air suspensions, which effectively compensates for irregularities in the road surface and offers a high degree of ride comfort. Stabilizers are fitted as standard on both the front and rear, minimizing the tendency to roll over. With a 6.2 m wheelbase, the B7R has a small turning radius of 10.25 meters. Tubeless tyres fitted on B7R ensures higher mileage, good road grip, wet-rolling resistance, better braking, stable driving and longer tyre life.

we really had a very bad experience one day . The bus at 9.15 night from SivajiNagarBusStan to electronic city got cancelled and there was no information on Internet or even to the enquiry desk there . Later by 9.45 night they said bus is cancelled . Do you know the kind of hardship 2 women will have to go through if they are stranded at 10.00 at night !!!!! God..we will never ever depend on Volvo buses , it’s total uncertainity….Not at all regular ..women bevare …..

Yesterday I waited for 1 hour for the VOLVE # 500 from BTM layout to Vijaynagar.

Bus No. 333P and 335E( from ITPB and Kadugodi via MG Road)always skips MG Road and goes through Victoria Road to Richmond Road causing inconvenience to passengers. Conductor issues ticket to Mayo Hall but goes through the wrong route. The reason they say is “BUS IS LATE”. Passengers have to get down at Life Style and walk to MG Road.

I am the regular user of VOLVO bus (Route No- 365 MAjestic to Bannerghatta). I normally catch last bus from Double road (KH Road) which leaves at 6.25PM from majestic and will be there at Double road between 6.45 PM to 7. Unfortunately since last one week the bus timings are very irregular. (I was waiting in the bus stop between 6.30 to 7.30 PM on last thursday and friday (19th and 20th). But still coulnd not take the bus. Kindly inform if the bus is cancelled or if there is any change in the timing. As we professionals depend totally on the VOLVO bus service, it is causing lot of inconvinience due to the irregular service. Request you to maintain the timings.

Dear Sir, Everyday I am travelling from ulsoor to Koramangala water thru 201bus, frequently violating rules specially today 201 double ducker
